和中文一样，英文也有很多意思相近的词汇，运用不重复而且得当，肯定会很拉风。记得新东方某老师讲过一个这方面的段子，很可乐，分享给大家：“大家平时背一点冷门的单词除了炫耀以外一点用都没有，但是如果在口试的时候就有用处了。比如如果考题中出现疯牛病，你说Mad Cow Disease，考官最多点点头，想这是中口的水平，如果你说 BSE，考官想不错还知道这个缩写，但你如果脱口而出Bovine Spongiform Encephalopathy，考官肯定当场傻了眼，这整个一牛人啊，而且还是一疯牛！”
